I hereby agree on this________day of __________20__ , to breed the Mare named below to the Stallion, SILESIA FLASH, Reg. No: 8916714 for the 20__ breeding season.
Name of Mare:_________________________________
Reg. No.______________DOB_________
- The Stallion breeding fee is $500, which shall be payable upon execution of this contract. $150 toward the Breeding Fee is due upon arrival of Mare and the balance, including board, shall be paid upon release of the Mare. The board fee is $8/day dry, and $10/day wet, unless otherwise stated. The first 4 days boarding are included in the $500 stud fee.
- The Stallion Manager will exercise judgement in the care and supervision of Mare and/or Foal. The Mare shall be in healthy and sound breeding condition: free from infections or transmissible diseases. Mares must be wormed, vaccinated, and have a current coggins test. The Stallion Manager reserves the right to refuse to accept any Mare which is not in good health, is a danger to herself, her Foal, property, or person, or is deemed "unable to breed".
- If the Mare Owner chooses to try breeding a questionable Mare, they will go through an approved veterinary hospital to monitor reproductive status, and facilitate breeding at the Mare Owner's expense. If the Mare Owner feels the Stallion facilities are inadequate, they will board the Mare at an approved veterinary facility during the breeding process, at the Mare Owner's expense.
- The Stallion Manager agrees to diligently try to settle the Owner's Mare. The Mare Owner agrees to give the Stallion Manager ample opportunity to settle the Mare by breeding through at least two(2) heat cycles. If the Mare doesn't settle at that time-continued attempts will occur only under the management of an approved veterinary facility, at the expense of the Mare Owner. If the Mare miscarries, or proves barren after checked infoal, or fails to conceive during the normal breeding season, the Stallion Owner reserves the right to stop trying to settle Mare. The Mare Owner may substitue another Mare for another two heat cycles.
- All Mares must be ultrasounded by a veterinarian fourteen(14) to twenty one (21) days after breeding or the LFG becomes void. The Stallion Owner reserves the right to postpone rebreeding until the next breeding season if the Mare is open after July 1.
- This contract contains a "live foal guarantee". A live foal is described as a new born foal which stands and nurses without assistance. If the foal is born dead, return privileges shall apply only if the Stallion Manager is notified within seven(7) days , and receives a veterinary statement confirming death, and applies only to that breeding season. This guarantee is non-transferable and non-assignable.
- A "Breeder's Certificate" will be issued when Mare is ultrasounded pregnant, and all fees are paid in full.
- If any medical or farrier treatment is needed for the Mare, the Owner will be contacted. If emergency treatment is needed, it will be provided by Bridger Veterinary Clinic and the Owner will be contacted immediately. Any possible medical history on the Mare that may affect breeding should be noted at the time of her arrival, as this could greatly reduce the cost of breeding.
- Neither the Stallion Manager nor any person associated with the Stallion Manager shall be liable for the death, sickness, and/or accident to the Mare and/or foal. Similarly, neither the Mare Owner nor any other person associated with the Mare shall be liable for the death, sickness and/or accident to the stallion.
- The parties further agree that should the Stallion, or Mare die before foaling, this contract becomes null and void. $250 of the Stallion fee will be refunded, and all other expenses incurred will be paid for by Mare Owner.
